5 Books to "Find" YOU!

I’m more Belle, from Beauty & The Beast, than I am any other Disney Princess; a lover of story, seeking more than a provincial life, perfectly content in mountains of books. I fight the urge to read, often, simply because I get lost in it and it feels like life doesn’t permit!

This summer, on a whim, I wondered into Barnes & Nobles and once again, found myself enchanted by the feel, smell, and possible adventures lurking behind the covers of the BOOKS! I walked out of the store with so many books, I made it a goal to read at least 5 books before summer’s end. I was done collecting the yearning to read!

If you are constantly searching for new books to read and enjoy variety I offer you these books! Be it their words that were so beautifully woven together, or the inspiration to be who you are and pursue your dreams, these books will resonate with you deeply. If you’re in a place where you’re charting your own destiny and trying to figure out your way in this great big world, these will give your course more light.

Hope For the Flowers by Trina Paulus

Hope for the Flowers By Trina Paulus

The moment you open this book vivid pictures pour from it’s pages, bringing the story of Strip [the caterpillar/protagonist] and Yellow [the caterpillar} to life. This story does what art does best; it takes something complex and simplifies it exceptionally! In this case it’s the existential life crisis. This story is a quick read, but one that will stay with you for a long time. In doing so, it’ll remind you that you have within you to do whatever is stirring within you.

What to do when it’s your turn (and it’s always your turn) By Seth Godin

What To Do When IT"S YOUR TURN [and it's always your turn] By Seth Godin

What To Do When IT"S YOUR TURN [and it's always your turn] By Seth Godin

This book is like a kick in the butt! I could not read this book without highlighting, flagging, or taking a note in the margin. It’s a fast read and very visual. It did take me sometime, though, because I wanted to digest and internalize the points, Seth Godin was making. There are so many good ones and powerful stories in this book that it will have you pivoting past your fears, doubts, or reservations. This is a must read if you really dream of changing the world! It will leave you with no reason not to!

This book honestly is not only a beautiful testament to believing in yourself and your words to inspire others, it is literally a beautiful book! Have a look at the instagram feed that’s totally populated by fans of the book and you will see what I mean. This book is the book that says what you “know”, but in a way that seems like a reminder. After reading this book I was left with a smile and also excited about making one just like it! Full disclosure, that maybe because the author is a fellow blogger but either way, that’s the type of inspiration I love!

The Opposite Of LONELINESS By Marina Keegan

The Opposite of Loneliness By Marina Keegan

If you read books to see words dance, and experience life through “everyday” characters, doing every day things; this book will be a love affair you wish was a saga! It’s a collection of essays both fiction and nonfiction by Marina Keegan, who left this world, way too soon, in a fatal car accident in route home from her college graduation. I love the book for the way that she is remembered in it. For the talent and promise that her writing showed, and the appreciation it gave me for a person who studies a craft with love and passion. If you love love love reading you will enjoy this book, simply for it’s artistry of words.

F**ck it! The ultimate spiritual way By John C. Parkin

F**K it the ultimate spiritual way By John C. Parkin

F**K it the ultimate spiritual way By John C. Parkin

The F bomb maybe EXTREMELY offensive to most people, the sheer amount of times it’s used in this book is both obscene and desensitizing. Yet, the author could not have chosen a better word to characterize the strong feelings that you have to embrace in order to embrace the F**k it philosophy. Truth be told, that maybe debatable, perhaps he could have said “How to let it go”  but the issues he discusses are so real you will node your head affirming almost everything the author talks about. You’ll soon agree why “Let it Go” just doesn’t move the needle! By the end of the book, you’ll find your self saying F*ck it, in a new way, and ironically having a more energized and empowered outlook on life. READ THIS BOOK, look beyond the title and past the F bomb!

Now that I’ve reawaken my inner Belle, reaching my reading goal for the summer I plan to do the same for Fall/Winter! What are you reading? I’m starting to collect some books that I think will be good but let me know in the comments what you’re reading that’s so good not to pass on!
