Our self worth is greater, than our biggest limitation! I have the pleasure of working with lots of people daily. Listening to their stories and telling some of my own. What I sometimes hear in these conversations are self imposed limitations. Statements Like, “Oh I could never wear that dress”, “That’s not for me”, “I could never do that”, or “I’ll never be that or accomplish that.”
The thing is that’s just not true. It’s easy to make friends with comparison, discouragement, and disbelief. They don’t challenge us, they don’t champion us, NOPE, they just validate the insecurities that we already feel.
But this is life. “What you today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it.” What are you exchanging today for? Do you ever think about that? I do, often.
I’m always trying to make each day worth living. Sometimes, living looks like power watching a t.v. series from beginning to end. Creating and completing projects. Our laughing with family and friends as we reflect on the past, pop culture , and the likes.
More often then not though, living, looks scary and at times impossible. I want to be a better photographer. I want to be a legit entrepreneur. I want to make money for being and doing the things I love. I want to make a difference. In all of this I want to be courageous.
So often I have to break off the conversations with “comparison", “discouragement", and “disbelief”. They don’t make it easy at all, trust me. I just prefer talking more with my friends “possibility”, “tried”, and “I did it!”
Who are you having conversations with? How do you push past your own fears and self imposed limitations?
